8.45 am : Left home for church with family.
8.55 am : Got onto Jalan Sg Besi, thereabouts. Road waterlogged under the roundabout, forcing everyone to slow down and move into one lane.
9.00 am : Hit by a van.
Yeah, our family Myvi was rear-ended by a van. Dad got a glance at the van before it struck, and he said it was moving rather fast and didn't slow down in time...
Dad and mom got down immediately. Dad didn't bother arguing who's to blame. He just layed down the basics; We'll lodge a report, they'll lodge a report, and let things settle themselves. After waiting a while, we got towed over to the traffic police station at Petaling Street by a mechanic friend of my parents for the usual stuff...
During collision, the entire front passenger side of the van was crushed. Surprisingly, the rear driver side of our car, where Jon was sitting, was relativelyt intact. Dad also noted that when the guys in the van came out, they seemed rather unstable and groggy, a result of rather hard trauma from impact. (He even had to ask them if they were okay, and no, I'm very certain they were not drunk)
By comparison, our family seemed quite fine. Sure, there's the usual little bit of post-trauma stress, but physically we're all okay, except for maybe a bit of whiplash on my neck... (Don't worry, it's gone by the time of this post...) Heck, we were still high spirited, and managed to remain cheerful. (Jon treated it like some sort of adventure!)
Oh, my LEGO Bumblebee which I brought along into the car shattered upon impact, right in my hands! It's repaired now...
So, what's the baseline of all this? Perodua makes good, strong cars? The municipal council needs to seriously reconsider their drainage systems? Van drivers should beware of Myvis? Maybe it's all of that, but the important thing is we're safe. No one got seriously hurt, no lives were lost. And that in itself is a gift from God...
Also, thanks to those who replied to our notifications. My personal thanks to Kak Lai Yee too, for her concern...

Speaking of God, um, our family is now kinda, car-less for Church Camp next week. Mom's Kancil isn't powerful enough to bring us up to Genting. So, fellow HOFers, if you read this, any suggestions?
I guess it's all down to faith now. Faith, and prayers. The stage cannot be more perfectly set for divine intervention, for only a miracle from our mighty God can see that our family makes it for church camp!
The stage is set, for a power so great
God Almighty, a way He will make
Through wind and water, flame and fire
God is in control, a miracle, He will deliver!

Through wind and water, flame and fire
God is in control, a miracle, He will deliver!
