"Align Me Not"

WARNING! Long Post!

Well, this was a somewhat interesting week. Next Monday is Co-curricular Quality and Excellence day, so I got roped in at the last minute to help with one of the presentations, a poem recital. Here's a summary of how it progressed.

Before holidays:
-Performance agenda'ed. Kak Lai Yee and Faiz Hassim debate over who's going to inform Nicholas Tan, with both expecting the other to do so.
-Alas, nobody informs Nicholas Tan, who blissfully goes on with his holidays...

Monday night, got an sms from Kak Lai Yee, asking to stay back the next day. So, after school at 1.10, went straight to the discipline room...
-1.30, Kak Lai Yee came, saw Faiz wasn't there, went off to find him (or something...)
-1.45, Lavanya came, sat down, chatted for a while, then went back up at 2.00+ for class...
-Sometime after 2.00, Faiz and Azrul came. Faiz went off for something...
-Around 3.00, Faiz comes back. Azrul decides to go call Lai Yee & Lavanya, but backed out because was intimidated by Pn. Tan...
-3.30, Lai Yee & Lavanya come to discipline room. Planning finally starts. My stomach rumbles...
-Finished at around 4, or was it 5?...
-Nicholas Tan wonders why planning didn't take place before holidays...

Then the next day,
-1.10, went straight to the discipline room.
-1.15, Kak Lai Yee, Faiz, & Lavanya enter the room. Chaos ensues, with Faiz wanting to go somewhere and postponing practice while Kak Lai Yee forbids it and wants practice to go on. Cold War erupts.
-Nicholas Tan declares Non-Alignment (Dasar berkecuali)
-Just before 2.00, somehow a settlement is reached. Practice is postponed.

And the day after that...
-8.30, practice starts in the Discipline room.
-10.00, group goes down and presents presentation to Mr. Razak. Mr. Razak offers his own add-ons. Group goes back to Discipline room to practice.
-Around 12.00, Kak Lai Yee and I go back down to join the awards rehearsal. Wai Yan tells me rehearsal hasn't started, and they've been sitting and waiting for the whole two hours.
-1.00+, after rehearsal, Pn. Kassnina sees me & Lai Yee. She wants to see the presentation the next day.
-Kak Lai Yee invites me to lunch with Vadhana, Pui Kei, & Pang.

And finally, today,
-First off, it was a holiday for F5s, according to the revised PMR holiday schedule. Nevertheless, I still had to go to school. On the plus side, I didn't have to get up until 9.30...
-10.00, Arrived at school met up with Kak Lai Yee. Waited for Pn. Kassnina. Eventually went searching for her on the 6th floor. Didn't find her, and decided to wait it out in the Counselling room, where Faiz, Azrul, Chee Han & Ken Yung were preparing for their Comsumers' Quiz next week.
-Pn. Kassnina finally arrives (she had forgotten). Presentation continues, gets the green light.
-Practiced on our own a few more times. Somewhere along the line, Kak Lai Yee, Azrul & Faiz engage in another Cold War. Nicholas Tan declares Non-Alignment again.
-11.30, practice ends. Faiz, Ken Yung & me go to lunch at Jusco food court. After that, I headed for home, while they went to tuition.
-1.00, Nicholas Tan blogs about the weeks events...

Wednesday was Dad's birthday. As per our family tradition, 'twas dinner at a nice restaurant (somewhere in Shamelin), and some cake-cutting.

The leaning tower of cake

And a birthday card to wrap it all up...

PMR holidays. We have so many breaks up that it's not even funny. We just finished Raya last week, plus the break F5s get today, and until Wednesday next week, followed by Deepavali after that.

Nevertheless, to all those taking PMR next week, all the best, and may God bless you!

Tomorrow SMK Cochrane will be having an "Open School" day. Sorta' like "Open House", but instead it's in school. This is in conjunction with Raya, RIMUP, and one other thing I forgot...

Then on Sunday, it's the Prefects' Farewell Party.

And on Monday, the event which I already mentioned above. Yeah, I still have to go to school during the F5 time off...

Looks like it'll be an interesting weekend ahead. Oh well...
