"Blood, Sweat, and Water-Rockets"

Twin events of note today. First off was the blood donation drive, in which I donated for the first time. Funny story ; Most of the PPUL were waiting to be called to go for donations. When the time came, half of the Science stream was in the Physics lab building rockets, more on that later. Me and Melvyn were done with ours, so we went for the drive. Little did we know that we would be the lasts ones to register and donate, since the crew handling the drive wanted to pack up quickly and deal with paperwork. An awkward scene when the others found out they were too late to donate...

Then was the bottle-rocket launching competition. The gist of it was ; We built rockets out of plastic water bottles, some even decorating theirs in the process. We filled up the now rockets partially with water. We launched the rockets using the pet rocket launching platform. People got wet. Rockets sailed through the air, brushed against the ground, or in a few special cases, didn't go very far. And we all had fun... while baking and sweating in the scorching noon sun...

Heck, at the end, we enjoyed it so much, some of us fitted our rockets for a 2nd (non-competitive) round, in which we pumped the air pressure to the max. Once again, rockets flew, people got wet, and fun was had... PPU LS1 is even contemplating doing just that for our Hari Keusahawanan...

Still more to go in SMKC's first Science & Technology week, although with most of the known contests passed, I'm not exactly sure what to expect. Oh well, let's just wait and see...
