So, on Saturday, I left for Subang at 10.30. After the usual trip, met up with Denise, and headed for Mydin. Once there, we went into the supermarket. Then, we waited... After a few minutes of staring at cans of sauce and packets of noodles, Chia Wei & Calvin arrived. We picked up whatever we needed, paid, then went over to Chia Wei's house to begin the cooking...
We spent around an hour preparing our dish for the night, Spaghetti Bolognaise. After we finished, Cailvin & Denise headed home, while I spent the afternoon at Chia Wei's house. (no way was I gonna travel all the way back home just to change) After washing up & getting dressed, Calvin came to pick us up & head to church.
Although, for some unknown reason, Calvin wasn't joining us for the party. Anyway, after everyone arrived, we began with an ice-breaker. (Quote: "Do you love your neighbor?") After some highly entertaining rounds, it was time for dinner. I don't remember which group made what, but here's a list of dishes we had:
-Spaghetti Bolognaise (only one that got finished ;-) )
-Shepherd's Pie
-Croissants
-Cream Puffs
-Sausage & Fruit (Pineapple?) on a stick
-Fruits: Watermelon, Honeydew, Banana
And man, were they delicious! Maybe HOF cafe should go public ;-) After we all had our fills, we went back to the hall for some more group activities. First was a maniacly humourous performance but those who got forfeited in the ice-breaker game. Most of us had aching stomachs after that... Then afterwards was not so much a game, more of an activity. We each drew a musical instrument that best reflected ourselves, and got to know each other better in the process.
And finally, the Gift Exchange! A random draw of gifts given out to a random line of YFers. (Did that make sense?) My gift was from Betsy, a nice little Disney bottle, while the snow globe I bought went to Elliot. Wei Jiin was enjoying his gift a little too much that night. (He got a towel. Think of all the ridiculous things you can do with a towel, and you'll get a picture)
Lastly, we had a group photo. And that's all there was to our little Christmas celebration. Now I'm totally looking forward to the big day this Thursday. Until my next post, Merry Christmas!
