"Welcome to (school's name). Glad you could join us for our (grand event). Sit back and relax as we put on all sorts of performances and shows by our own students, to which our own numerous boys will cheer to and scream at, as if they were girls at a J.Bieber concert. That's what should have been on their invitation letter. Even when I single-handedly rallied all the visiting schools together for the (school's name) vs "everyone else" endgame, they literally played dirty enough that we couldn't win. Exhaustion, frustration, and rage took over after that, prompting the above quote.
So, welcome to our (grand event). By (school's name), for (school's name)! You're all here because we could really use some help filling the extra chairs... Some of which you'll be helping us to move around too, even though we have far more than enough manpower for that.
And stay tuned for our end-of-the-day game where we make you feel even more unwelcome by collectively ganging up on all of you and laugh at your misery. And cheat. Yeah, we'll totally cheat!"
Sad thing was that I very much felt welcome when I went there back in 2009. Back then they even invited the visiting schools to do impromptu performances on their stage! Speaks volumes of the differences between the two generations...
Oh, and I take it back about the J. Bieber thing. That would be an insult to Bieber fangirls.

Earlier this week:
Wednesday
Majlis Tadarus Al-Quran Zon Pudu.
Host : SMK Cochrane
Fun was had. We were excused out of class for the whole day to welcome the visitors and show them around to their competition rooms, of which 7 events were going on simultaneously. We even got to watch the competitions, which were fascinating to say the least. Although the VIP being a full hour late for the prize-giving ceremony was seriously uncool.
At least we were civilised about it...
Thursday
Strike a win for organised petitions. Sports' Day was announced to be in June. On a Tuesday! Although considerably later than previous experiences, nevertheless, the bottom line, we're going to Sports' Day!
And we were very, very civilised when we petitioned for it.
Friday
Teachers from another school from Sabah came to visit, SMK Tansau. (Which happens to be close neighbours with last year's Sabahan visitors from SMK Putatan) I sat in for the presentations, doing little more than writing down a few things and learning a few other surprising developments. Oh, but I did get asked to answer a question from the visitors regarding student discipline at SMKC.
And I was dang civilised about it man!

Fun fact: (school's name) was notoriously known even back during my parents' time as students! Especially Dad, whose school and (school's name) were arch-rivals. They even had a nickname for it: (funny nickname for that school)
Ironically, the few friends I made today were from Aminuddin Baki. Cochrane's arch-rivals. Oh, and that one guy from Connaught too of all places...
And we were much more civilised about it!
Part two of "the Crossfire" coming up tomorrow. Here's to excellent performances in the MUET Reading, Writing, and Listening papers.
And, yes, we will definitely be dang civilised about it.
