"A Decade's End"

Well, this is it. In a few moments, 2010 will be another set of memories framed in the windows of the past, and with it, goes the first decade of the new millenium.

Yet memories nowadays, thanks to digital photography, will never, if ever fade. Unlike printed photos, digital images will never gain that sepia tone of aged photographs, their age marked only by our own perceptions. (or the dates set by the devices themselves, if such information is obtainable)

Thus, ages and ages hence from now, we'll load up these pictures, gaze into their colours and vibrance, and feel as if such memories were like yesterday.

In fact, should a generation come about who've neither seen them nor experienced the moments, such pictures could have very well beem taken in their own yesterdays. Such is the lasting power of digital.technology.

So one day, when we are no longer here, these pictures will serve as the legacies of our time here. Legacies that will carry on until the end.

And at one of the ends, right here, in the twilight of the years 2001 to 2010, we look back to a year that's passed, remembering all that has gone by, grateful for the good, strengthened by the bad. And a decade through which we've all been through together, in all the breakthroughs and the downfalls. And then we look to the future. It's a blank slate, waiting to be filled in with our moments and memories yet to be.

The brush is yours, the canvas is waiting. Let's go paint a masterpiece.
